Migration was painful, the result was worth it

Our practice put four clients on this before we moved our own business across. A genuine double entry ledger at no cost. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Unlimited invoices on the free plan. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Does the job, will not delight you

Good enough that changing again is not worth the disruption. No user limit, ever. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

What works

Unlimited invoices on the free plan. Invoicing is quick once the templates are set.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Getting a person on the phone is difficult.

Bank feeds alone justify the subscription

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Unlimited invoices on the free plan. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

A genuine double entry ledger at no cost. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

Support took eleven days to answer a VAT query

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What works

It is inexpensive.

What does not

Support responses were slow and generic. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. The VAT handling required constant manual correction.

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. No user limit, ever. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

Clean, uncluttered interface. Pricing is predictable with no surprise increases.

What does not

Getting a person on the phone is difficult. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.

The trial went well. Live use with real volume did not. The honest position is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.
